News about STELA
We have received some news and a couple of pictures about STELA the other day, who is enjoying her life in the USA as a new resident! She was our first horse and one of our clients decided to buy her for his daughter, after visiting our equestrian centre in 2003.
We were all very happy for her, although she looks a bit fatter than she should be in the photos…
Stela has had a very interesting fate: we bought her in December 1999, after we had seen how badly she was treated by her former owners and used in the forest to pull logs! She had already suffered from pulmonary emphysema and she was covered in scars, although she wasn’t skinny and she was fed quite well…She had only just lost her fowl in the previous Summer eaten by the wolves!
She was our first horse and we became very attached to her.
We would not have sold her but the emphysema could not be treated in Romania at that time and she was better off at Chancellor’s Stables in Indiana than in a cold and humid climate as we have in our mountains.
There’s also a picture with Stela at the Customs ready to embark for Amsterdam and continue from there to New York. In this picture she is standing by Ovidiu and Catalina Graur.
